Frédéric Descombes, Managing Partner, concentrates on corporate law, anti-trust and competition law, tax law and public law.
He was a lawyer at the Paris Bar from 1995 to 2000, and was admitted to the Noumea Bar in 2001. In 2003 he founded the firm Descombes & Associés, then, through his relationship with Salans, he formed the firm DESCOMBES & SALANS, which became D&S LEGAL in 2014, of which he is Managing Partner.
In parallel, he performed the functions of Official Receiver, appointed by the Noumea Mixed Commercial Court for more than 13 years, and in that capacity was in charge of the restructuring and reorganisation of significant local companies.
Through its well-structured network in Australia, particularly in the States of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, Frédéric Descombes, with his associates, regularly assists and advises French investors in Australia and Australian investors in the French Pacific Islands.
He regularly presents at conferences overseas, on investing in New Caledonia and French Polynesia (Australian New Caledonia Business Forum, Brisbane, Australia; New Caledonia Nickel Conference, Noumea, New Caledonia).
He is also a regular speaker at conferences on New Caledonian competition law and merger law.
